The beautiful Spanish island of Ibiza is situated in the Mediterranean Sea just off the coast of Valencia. The warm water and many pristine, white sandy beaches and small private coves draw visitors throughout the year to this very popular tourist destination. This is increasingly becoming a visitor's dream for the whole family, with every new Ibiza luxury hotel having five star grading. Its legendary night life draws the hip crowd to the numerous clubs and restaurants situated all over the island, especially during the summer months.

Many areas of the island are registered as United Nations World Heritage Sites and are therefore protected from commercial development. These are fascinating places to visit, such as "God's Finger", a monolithic rock island, in the Benirràs Bay. If you are a visitor to an Ibiza luxury hotel, it makes sense to rent a car to explore the many beautiful sights on the island. Another UNESCO World Heritage Site is the National Park of Las Salinas with its ecological richness. A dramatic natural wonder and nature reserve is the Es Vedrá Rock, a small island just off the western coast of Ibiza. Near San Vicente lies the Cova d'es Culleram, a large cave previously used as a temple to a Carthaginian goddess and origin of many treasures on display in the archeological museum at Dalt Villa.

Tourists residing in hotels on the island can expect air-conditioned rooms with luxuriously appointed en suite bathrooms with extras such as complimentary toiletries and bathrobes. Swimming pools, gymnasiums and Jacuzzis on the premises as well as a car rental desk and gift shop are often standard in these hotels. Some of the resort hotels feature entertainment for the whole family or are situated close by such entertainment, such as Ponyland, which is aimed at young children.

Business visitors will find that every Ibiza luxury hotel caters for most of their needs. Rooms have work stations with personal computers utilizing fast internet access, often Wi-Fi. Business centers supply fax, photocopying and audiovisual facilities and often have secretarial or PA services available. Conference venues are adaptable and often include an events organizer to organize any meetings. A shuttle service supplies transport to and from Ibiza Airport.

The night life of Ibiza is one of its strongest draw cards. Clubs such as Space, Pacha and Privelege are well-known among the party crowd. The Café del Mar bar is famous for its beautiful sunsets and chill-out music. The annual live music event Ibiza Rocks features world famous bands that draw thousands of fans. Clubs are open all night and rules are far from strict!

The local cuisine is mainly Mediterranean, to be found at restaurants such as Cas Mallorqui in Portinatx and Tropicana at Cala Jondal Beach. Typical dishes include the very popular tapas - snacks such as olives, cheese, chorizo sausage cooked in wine or cider, or fried squid. Other seafood is also widely available and of excellent quality. Pita bread, hummus and falafel are also popular. Other types of food available include Italian, French, German and Mexican. Typical local drinks are sangria (wine and liqueur with chopped fruit), anise based Hierbas Ibecencas and sweet and aromatic Frigola.

There is a very wide choice of lovely beaches to visit. In Ibiza Town, Figueretas and Playa d'en Bossa are but two examples. San Antonio has Cala d'Hort and Cala Bassa; to the north lie Puerto de San Miguel and Portinatx Beach; and the eastern beaches include Cala San Vicente and Aquas Blancas. Many of the most popular beaches also have excellent restaurants with stunning views of the sea, such as the Cana Sofia Restaurant overlooking Cala Vadella Beach.

Any Ibiza luxury hotel will form an excellent base from which to visit the many annual festivities on the island. In the middle of January the Revelta I Beneides de Sant Antoni Abat features dancing, bonfires and costumed processions. February Carnival has fancy dress balls and other events. On Good Friday and Easter Monday the religious festival of Semana Santa is celebrated on all the Balearic Islands. The large and popular yachting regatta for the Princess Sofia Trophy is held in April and July celebrates the patron saint during Dia de Virgen de Carmen. August has the Sant Ciriac festival, September's Festa del Melo is a watermelon festival and October 12 commemorates Columbus' discovery of the New World in 1492.
